Play Responsibly

At MCR Comps, we are committed to providing a socially responsible and enjoyable experience for everyone participating in our competitions. Although we are not regulated by the UK Gambling Commission, we take player protection seriously and follow best practices for safe, low-risk participation.

1. Age & Eligibility

  • Entrants must be 18 years or older to participate in competitions.
  • Employees, agents, contractors, and immediate family members are excluded from competitions unless explicitly stated.

2. Low-Risk & Accessible Participation

  • Entry costs are kept affordable, and ticket availability may be limited to promote fair participation.
  • Free postal entry options are available for all competitions to ensure accessibility, fairness, and low-risk engagement.

3. Responsible Play Tools

To support responsible participation, we provide the following measures:

  • Self-Exclusion: Players can request to temporarily suspend or permanently close their account by contacting support@mcrcomps.co.uk.
  • Spending Limits: Players can request personal spending limits to help control the amount they spend on competition entries.
  • Maximum Order Value: To promote low-risk play, we enforce a maximum of £100 per order. This ensures fair participation and helps prevent excessive spending in a single transaction.
  • Account Monitoring: We monitor participation patterns for signs of excessive or potentially harmful behaviour and may intervene where necessary to encourage responsible play.

4. Recognising Problem Gambling

Even with safeguards in place, it is important to recognise the signs of potential gambling-related harm. Competitions should be viewed as entertainment, not a way to earn money or solve financial problems.

Warning signs include:

  • Treating competitions as a source of income.
  • Chasing losses or gambling to relieve financial pressure.
  • Spending more time or money than you can afford.
  • Selling possessions or borrowing money to continue playing.
  • Struggling to control or stop participation.

If any of these signs feel familiar, we strongly encourage you to seek support at BeGambleAware.org

5. Continuous Improvement

MCR Comps Ltd regularly reviews this page and our practices to ensure we remain aligned with the Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators and other best-practice guidance for responsible play.
